# gitbare Minimal, self-hosted Git hosting for a single owner. Built with FastAPI, Vue and PostgreSQL. Git over SSH and HTTP, public and private repositories, file browsing, Markdown previews, commit history and diffs. ## Run Requires Docker with Compose v2. ```sh git clone https://git.cy0u.xyz/git/gitbare.git cd gitbare cp docker/.env.example .env ``` Edit `.env`: set `POSTGRES_PASSWORD` to a random hex password (`openssl rand -hex 32`) and `SSH_PUBLIC_HOST` to your domain. Set `SETUP_SECRET` to protect initial registration. ```sh docker compose up -d --build ``` Proxy `127.0.0.1:8000` through HTTPS, then open `/setup` to create your account. Git SSH uses port `2222`. For local HTTP development, set `SESSION_COOKIE_SECURE=false`. PostgreSQL and migrations are managed automatically. Persistent data is stored in `./data`. ## License [MIT](LICENSE) — Max Rukhlyadko.
